In life there comes a satisfaction from learning when someone reveals themselves to you. It can take days, months, or even years to realize that we were blinded by someone’s true colors.

Looking back, I have concluded that I choose to let people into my life as friends or even family because I felt like I needed a bigger support system. I held on to friendships that felt odd within my spirit. I tried to keep bonds with people who I no longer was able to connect with. I was out of touch with the truth for the sake of having so-called friendships.

You can relate I’m sure; don’t get me talking about past relationships with exes. My God! I can go on and on. It’s just something about how we care so much about holding on to people who aren’t good for us.

Sometimes we are prone to believe the lies others have fed us.  If only we had paid more attention to what they were revealing throughout conversations and texts. Nevertheless, we eventually caught on to them. We understood that we could not keep reaching out to these people to talk to, love on, or grow with.

I also have a scripture for you too.

“Bow down thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thine heart unto my knowledge. For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee; they shall withal be fitted in thy lips.”

Letting go becomes easier when you accept the growth that comes along from it.
