Insecurity can stem from a lot of places. Sometimes we allow insecurity in ourselves hold us back from accomplishing our dreams, moving forward, and even with our relationship with God. I once was too insecure to find the words to pray.

I would just take every opportunity I had to mentally belittle myself. I started to believe the lies of the enemy. The enemy would tell me, “No one cared about the difference I want to make.” The enemy would tell me to, “Rest in depression.” I would cry myself to sleep many of nights because of how insecure and insignificant the enemy made me feel knowing that I was a child of God.

Moving forward

I found the inner strength within Christ to pray. If you must praise God in the hallway until the door is open for you to go through, then do it! I know I did and still do. I took the time to go back to church. I took the time to meditate on his word. I praised him selflessly and openly.

I did not care what people thought of my joy! I know that being confident in God is better than in self. Comparison won’t hold you down when you understand how seasons work. The way that some folks have written you off won’t hold back from being blessed!

When you place the spiritual work into overcoming insecurity you glow differently.

Here are 10 verses from the KJV bible that will help you to overcome insecurity. Remember, to not just read the bible verses in hopes that you feel different about yourself. You must believe in his word and put in the work towards bettering your self-esteem and how you view yourself. These bible verses have also helped me.

Philippians 4:13

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

Galatians 5:16
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”

John 1:6
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

Psalms 139:14
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

Psalms 139:23
Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Mark 11:22
And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God

Isaiah 41:10
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

2 Corinthians 12:9
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Psalms 94:22
But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.

I want to speak against whatever insecurities are holding you back from achieving greatness. I believe that God will continue to lead and guide you as long as you hold on to his hand. You were fearfully and wonderfully made. I pray that you accept anything that you have labeled on your body as an imperfection with grace.
