How To Handle Your Haters According To The Bible

by Linda B Hurd, May 29, 2020

Some people do not have much better things to do with their time then to put you down. It's something about you that they can not stand out of pure jealously. The bible gives us a few verses on how to handle people when they start spreading lies on our name.

God has already prepared us for any battle with the enemy before it begins. When you understand and value that you are not alone when standing strong against your enemy or enemies, then you can grow even more spiritually. Here are a few bible verses to speak yourself and study when your haters are trying to get the very best of you.

An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.

Proverbs 11:9 KJV

A dishonest man spreads strife, and a whisperer separates close friends.

Proverbs 16:28 KJV

For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue.

Psalms 109:2 KJV

He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.

Proverbs 10:18 KJV

Now that you know these bible verses here are a few to highlight, study, and live when you are dealing with the hate of any kind from anyone. These bible verses will teach you how to redirect your anger, confusion, and or sadness when you feel personally attacked.

Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

1 Peter 3:9 KJV

Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

1 Peter 3:16 KJV

The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.

Proverbs 19:11 KJV

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Ephasians 4:32

Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.

Romans 12:14 KJV

Example from the bible can be found in

Samuel 18:6-9 King James Version (KJV)

And it came to pass as they came, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women came out of all cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with tabrets, with joy, and with instruments of musick.

And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.

And Saul was very wroth, and the saying displeased him; and he said, They have ascribed unto David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed but thousands: and what can he have more but the kingdom?

And Saul eyed David from that day and forward.

Here's what happened in this scripture: Troops were heading back just when David was returning from killing the Philistine. The women then had come out from all the cities of Israel to meet King Saul. There were lots of singing and dancing with tambourines as well as with shouts of joy, and with three-stringed instruments.

During the time they celebrated, the women sang. Saul has killed his thousands of people, but David his tens of thousands. Saul was raging with anger and resented this song. "They credited tens of thousands to David," he complained and said, "but they only credited me with thousands. What more can he have but the kingdom?" Therefore, Saul watched David jealously and anger from that very day on.

I know how your emotions can be at an uproar inside of you after finding out that someone or some people have been lying about you. I use to get very upset and at an uproar. I now ask, "Why would they do such a thing?" Then I would just let go and not overthink their reasons as to why. Their belittlement of you is preparing you for something greater. Think of it as leveling up more spiritually in this lifetime. However, you

deserve peace and freedom from any worry or stress that their negativity may try to bring within your life. Take a step back from their drama and misery and seek time to journal and take to God. I hope you have also found this blog post helpful as well.
