The holiday season makes me feel…because…

I am feeling grateful this holiday season because I have so much to be thankful for. God has been a moving force in my life, and I wouldn’t have made it to yet another holiday season without Him. I love feeling warm and cozy during this time of the year while sporting an oversize sweater with comfortable bottoms.

I love the taste of warm teas, hot cocoa with the right amount of marshmallows to satisfy my sweet tooth, and hugs from my husband and son. When I look back on how far I have come this year, all I can think about is how much favor God has had over my family and marriage. Many people didn’t make it to this time of the year, and there are so many people going into this holiday season feeling incomplete.

I try to take time every holiday season since being with my husband to get dressed, make a warm travel mug of tea, and hit the streets in his car to ride around and see Christmas lights around 7-9pm. Since having Eli, we have still been doing it, and just driving around looking at the Christmas light displays around our parish, and even the city makes us excited. It’s the little things I enjoy about the holiday season that I choose to not take for granted in this lifetime. What about you?
