Has it been difficult for you to keep your focus on God lately? Creating excuses as to why you do not have a close relationship with God does not pull you closer to Him. Let me tell you that I am guilty of constantly finding a distraction. My distractions have pulled me away from God weekly. Some days I am filling myself with His word and others I’m straying away mentally with distractions.

Reflect:
What has been distracting you away from your relationship with Christ?

Distractions can alter how and when God speaks to us. Distractions can lead us away from God’s favor for our lives. The time you spend strolling on social media, gossiping to your friends or coworkers over the phone, and even playing a game for hours can be distractions. Your love life, work, and hobbies can also be a distraction from Christ as well.

We serve a jealous God. We cannot serve Him and honor worldly things and distract us with things that do not benefit our growing relationship with Him.

Here are a few bible verses about distractions that you read and pray over for clarity and release from your distractions. I also use these bible verses too.

Psalms 119:15 - I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.

1 Corinthians 7:35 - And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.

Matthew 6:24-34 - No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

1 Corinthians 10:13 - There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it].

Are you willing to let your daily distractions go? Can you create a routine that involves you getting closing to serving and praising God? Share your thoughts in the comment box below. I would love to talk to you.
