Write It Down And Burn It | Burning Letters

in , , by Linda B Hurd, November 10, 2020

Write it down. Whatever is troubling, hunting, and unreleased your peace of mind, write it down with your emotions tied to it. Don’t suppress how you feel about whatever it may be, and it can be several things. If you want to release, you must let it go onto paper without hesitation. Feel the fire of it all and grab a lighter and set it ablaze. You will feel so much lighter.

I did my first burning ritual for this year. One letter that I wrote to a few particular people in my past life caused me so much pain. The second thing I burned was my burn book. I wanted to be mentally free without anything on my spirit and mind burdening me with reminders of my past, shortcomings, and pain that’s no longer relevant to my current growth.

I have blossomed into a confident version of grown late 20 self, and my past doesn’t define me. I’m much stronger. I’m much smarter. I am a resilient woman with an undeniable passion for life. I intend to live without regrets. I intend to live within my truth and happiness.

Writing your emotions down and burning them won’t solve everything or even right away. I still continue to give myself grace. It feels refreshing to feel vulnerable on paper and submissive to my truth. It feels comforting watching it all burn. It helps with my healing and mental clarity.

While burning both the letter and book, I felt relieved. The burning was comforting and relaxing to watch. As the ashes formed, I smiled and let out a sigh of relief, knowing that everything will be okay and that I'm moving forward towards a positive state of mental being. Maybe this is something you want to try. If you do, let me know how it makes you feel in the end.
