I had many ups and downs during the month of August. I found peace in letting go of people, thoughts, and habits that were causing me setbacks emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. I started going through therapy with a life coach. So far, my sessions have been enlightening.

I am not that confused, almost every day complain about my circumstances and the overemotional woman that I was at the start of August 1st. I am 10 months post separation from my husband. Hopefully, I am 2 months away from being able to get this divorce finalized. I have been reading on a separation and divorce group on Facebook that many divorces take years to become finalized especially when children are involved.

As of now, complaining about not having a certain lifestyle for me and my children in the 3rd quarter of the year will not bring me closer to where I desire to be. All I know now is that I have to keep my thoughts about myself, my situation, and my goals positive at all times. NO more of the second guessing my potential or creativity. I must keep it pushing and you must too!

Challenge yourself this month and quarter to not get down on yourself, your situation, or allow what people may say to you to affect your progress. I understand firsthand how discouraging life can be when you feel stagnant and as if you see everyone excelling and going places while you compare yourself and your situation to theirs.

Be compassionate with yourself. Get on out and go for a few walks throughout the week. Do a nice cardio workout to burn some calories. If you can make it your mission to go to bed at a good time so you can get at least 6 hours of rest. For the month of September, I am sending clarity and peace of mind your way.

During the month of August, I cried, questioned my purpose, felt overwhelmed, and then picked myself back up and pulled through my own criticism and pain. Being a mother is one of the most challenging yet rewarding parts of my life that God has ever given to me. I refuse to be trapped and weighed down by negativity in any way.

You deserve to be genuinely happy. Create a few short-term goals for this month and keep them somewhere you can see them. I keep mine on my phone in my notes app and on an open sheet of paper sitting on my dresser in my bedroom. Here's a gentle reminder that you are and will continue to be victorious.

You will get through it all! May the month of September rain blessings upon your life this fall!
