I hope that your new year has started off well. This year I wanted to post more on my blog which will be a more controlled environment for me to express my thoughts. In just a matter of a few weeks, I will be graduating from my administrative medical assistant program and taking on a new career.

I finished my program with a joyful and relieved heart! I chose to keep it under wraps until I finished. Now I can dive into why I went into this career field.

Why I chose medical administration?

I have always been curious about getting into the medical field. I was also quite interested in medical billing and office setting. Once I was mentally and physically set to commit to taking the course program I went on a local search in my area.

It did not take me long to find a program that met my needs and financial requirements, especially as a single mother. I could have gone back into the banking field, but I chose to get into a career field that was different and one where I can have the option to work hybrid and also is true rapidly growing industry.

What is the job outlook for medical administrative assistants?

Employment for Medical Secretaries and Administrative Assistants, although not quite as robust as MAs, is projected to grow by 11% from 2020 to 2030.

It’s projected that employment in this field will top 676,000 by 2030. There is strong employment growth is anticipated primarily due to the continued expansion of the healthcare industry. With the strong expansion of employment, it is one of the reasons why there is growth is the medical service of baby boomers that will be required through the next decade.

My outlook as I approach this new career in 2023?

I am eager to take on my role as a medical administrative assistant. When I found the school that was the best option for me I knew that I made one of the best decisions for my future. I attended Camelot College here in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. My instructor was engaging, understanding, and patient with me and my classmates while learning and retaining information throughout the course.

My college president was very encouraging and spoke affirmations of Christ over me from the very first day I called interested in the program. I studied took notes and even exams with diligence throughout the course. I have been excited to buy scrubs, compression socks (even though I keep them on), and Crocs. I made this career decision for me without going into debt. If you are interested in learning more about my journey into the field subscribe to my email list here so you won’t miss an update.
