Showing posts with label hustling

September came with its own understanding for lessons, challenges, and a steady reminder that growth is never comfortable. I learned how to keep my journey to myself more than outspoken and shared with others.

See I didn’t even want to share publicly that I completed my associates degree and applied to a university to work towards completing my undergrad. But when something told me, “Go head on and do it Lynn just post it!”

Folks are going to talk. Regardless of how you talk, the fact that you are living your life, the way you are pursuing your goals, or the amount of peace you have now there may be comments or opinions about it.

My "Winter Arc" Glow Up Is In Effect

in , , by Linda B Hurd, November 01, 2024

Hey there, as the days get shorter and the air gets nippy, I'm stepping into what I like to call my "Winter Arc." It's a quarter of the year, from November to February. This is the time when it's cold but cozy with all the holidays and family time.

So, this fall marks a whole year since I moved into my apartment.  Let me tell ya, it has been an empowering feeling! Between making this place comfortable, handling school, and keeping up with motherhood. It has been challenging at times!

I hope that your new year has started off well. This year I wanted to post more on my blog which will be a more controlled environment for me to express my thoughts. In just a matter of a few weeks, I will be graduating from my administrative medical assistant program and taking on a new career.

It is going to be okay, and I know it. In just about another week, I will be seeing my daughter’s precious face, and she will be my second child. I have thought about managing motherhood, being a wife, and college student once she arrives.

I learned a little something in June 2021. I made it through the beginning of my last trimester of pregnancy sain and feeling better than what I did earlier during the month. I decided to create a shortlist of things stuck with me in June rather than just long hand-writing them out. Let's get into what I learned!

You must dream bigger and have stronger faith. I wrote those words down in my journal a few days before making the sound decision that I was going to continue with finishing my associate degree in social science from my local community college.

21 Ways to Live Abundently in 2021

in , , , by Linda B Hurd, January 04, 2021

We have welcomed in 2021 a year of yet again limitless opportunities to partake on. In about a week from now, we will be about halfway through the first month of the New Year. If you're like me, you may be wanting to put those procrastinating ways behind you and give in to your ambition to tackle the mountain of resolutions or goals ahead of you.

Some folks would be surprised to know that there are people who are in a secret competition with them. The plot twist is that they are still losing the competition they mentally created with you. There are also people that love to compare their growth to others in their niche. For me, the goal is to outdo me!

I still can vividly recall the day when the landlord to my husband and I very first apartment placed the keys in the palm of my hand. I felt empowered. I felt overjoyed. It was a feeling of victory. Seeing my name on the lease and turning the knob to a place that I could call home felt great.

25 Habits To Help You Prosper

in , , , , by Linda B Hurd, September 30, 2019
You do not always need a real God-given talent to accomplish things that you have set out to do in your everyday life. Many people are hard on their selves because they feel as if they aren’t good at anything unique or unusual.

There’s beauty in silence of you evolving. You feel a change in your approach to your dreams. You feel a change in how you view yourself.

I have been on YouTube and doing hair product reviews for the past five years. I have learned a lot about keeping my sanity in check. I have learned about my value and self-worth. My time or creativity is not to be wasted or taken for granted. What a lot of influencers won’t tell you is that you should never overexert yourself for nobody’s brand.

Yeah, I said it. It can be difficult to speak against anything or anyone that has been holding us down for so long. Fear can trigger our anxieties to not do whatever we know in our hearts that we were called to do.

Have you ever placed aside accomplishing a goal or chasing a dream because you felt as if you did not have something to get started? Sometimes we can feel discouraged.

We may feel like we do not have the best of things at hand to get started. If you allow those negative thoughts to hold you back from getting started then you won’t value the beauty of your growth.

You Better Put In The Work!

in , , , , by Linda B Hurd, April 18, 2019
I was having a conversation earlier this week with a blogger friend of mines. We somehow started talking about the latest self-help books and audibles. She asked a very intriguing question. She said, “After reading so many self-help books I still find myself being more self-critical on many areas of my life. Do you think I’m going crazy? Am I taking the advice and views of other authors too seriously?”

What sets you apart from that individual you were last year during this time? What characteristics do you now embody? I asked myself these same two questions this morning.

I applied my answers to my current approach to accomplishing my dreams. There’s no room for your dressed up lies in other words excuses. You need a plan. A great plan. A strategy that will help you carve out time to accomplish your goals.

Every woman, no matter young or old, is not cut from the same cloth. We all have different hustles, motivations, and goals. Some of us are raising a family while trying to provide a better living situation and future. I know how tiresome it could be busting’ your ass to make a living. I understand your struggle!
