No matter if you are landing a better job or even a higher position at a company you deserve to be the very best at your interview as you know you can be. After all, you know your worth. Having your head on straight and a few other things can lead you in the direction for Acing your interview.

Do not over dress yourself or over-power your presence with perfume or body spray.

Before stepping out the door and heading out on your way to your interview, it is smart to already have your outfit picked out and a light and not overly powered scent in your grasp. Now, I am not saying that you don’t need to wear your Sunday’s Best to the interview or to go there without a nice fragrance on at all. I would love for you to dress with class (no animal print anything please) and one to two sprays of a very decent fragrance without smelling like you have bathe in it.

Show up 10-15 minutes early.

This will be best for any woman who loves to sleep in late and even if you do not know exactly where you are going. Showing up early can and will give you a chance to relax and brace yourself for those interview questions.

Have 2 printed resumes on hand.

I suggest having two printed resumes on hand because you honestly do not know for sure if technology will be on your side or your interviewer(s) side. There may be more than one person interviewing you too. By having more than one this will help you look even more confident and give you a bolder appearance to your interviewers.

Have a list of at least 5 to 10 references with you on hand.

You never know what type of questions that they may want answered by someone else who can be of a reference to you. It’s better to go to any interview with a least of I’ll say a minimum of 5 people that can truly be reached if an employer needs a little justification on hiring you.

Research the company days before the interview.

Girl, you sure do not want to look sorry that you have no clue about the company you finally have an interview for. Do your research on the company and even read other past and present employee’s thoughts about the company.

Making eye contact is key.

Eye contact ensures your interviewer that you have nothing to hide and that you are confident in saying whatever it is that you are saying. There is no need to sport a pair of different color contacts to look more angelic, say what you mean and mean what you say with direct eye contact and let your presence do the talking.

Place your phone on vibrate or turn it the hell off.

You want to be forgettable from being so unique for the interview not because your damn phone went off and it was someone who wasn’t worth your future to being with.

Do not be afraid to answer any question that is throw at you.

They will possibly ask you about your strengths and weaknesses. Please do not pause to think about that you should say. Be honest and don’t sugar coat the truth.

When they ask you, “Where do you see yourself in the next five years.” Tell them what they want to hear.

This question is completely different than the last question. Now I am not saying to lie your ass off for the job, but damn you must at least know that they will be pleased with your answer and you can be making a little coin in the next couple of weeks or months. Tell them that you see yourself within their company growing.

Keep your compliments to yourself.

If you are an ass kisser then leave that shit at the door before you step into the interview. You do not need to compliment your interviewer at all. Even if you are not an ass kisser you sure will come off as one by trying to compliment them. The interview is about you landing the job, not complimenting your way to another job.

Do not be too eager.
I know how much you may want to job. Just do not look like an overly desperate candidate please.

Ask questions!
You want to come off as engaging. Do not just sit that and be fed questions without asking any back. Ask them questions like,
“What can I expect for my work day to consist of?
"How long have you been employed with this company?"

If salary comes up, be willing to negotiate.

I understand you want to make more money, but do not sell yourself short of anything that you know you are worth.

I hope that this list is very helpful to someone and if it is please share. Drop your comments in the box below if you want to.
