Have you ever heard of audio journaling? I sure did back in September of 2016. I was in search of another way to vent than using pen and paper and just talking to someone. I wanted to keep a record of how I truly was experiencing my deepest emotions. As a writer, I can protest to sometimes not being able to write out how I may feel.

I can say that writing was always my go-to outlet and still is. However, when I discovered audio journaling it took my personal growth to a totally different level of understanding. For me keeping an audio journal was simple to do.

The steps are easy: Get on my Android tablet, open the app, put in my password, and click the record button. I could have been standing in my kitchen cooking, cleaning things around my apartment, or simply just lying in bed. I wasn't doing audio journaling because I was getting too lazy to pick up a pen and my journal either. It was and still is very convenient and a fantastic way to vent.

I could have downloaded any recording journaling app on my phone too. Either way with a few of the steps being here and there, I still could have been successful at recording my day by simply venting away.

Audio journaling takes me deeper into the moment when, where, and how my life was happening. Whenever I need to reflect on a day I have had, I can just open my audio journaling app and reflect on that day and time.

I even went on Google and found that lots of other people keep diverse types of audio journals too. On Jawwd.com  great benefits of keeping an audio journal as listed beneath this post.
  • Articulate myself
  • Capture the thought, emotions, and the memory
  • Reflect and re-visit how I thought in the past
I also took to my Instagram and Snapchat account to talk about how amazing it has been keeping an audio journal for the past two years. I have grown oh so much that it’s mind-blowing to me. I realized that when I first started audio journaling that I mainly recorded my day when I was having a rough day.

I cried a lot in 2016 on almost every other audio journal entry post. I’m not sure if I only vented whenever I was PMSing or what? All I can tell you is that 2017 was a tad bit different and I did not experience many goals getting accomplished last year at all.

I have learned that I am indeed a very emotionally detached individual. I find peace in expressing my emotions. I have learned that I use to push a lot of my goals aside to chase job opportunities, procrastinate, and because I sometimes was just speaking negatively about my damn self. I was my own biggest critic two years ago. I was constantly standing in my own way.

Therefore, keeping an audio journal has been a refreshing experience. I encourage you to try it out for yourself and see how it works out for you.
