29 Things I Learned In 29 Years

in , , by Linda B Hurd, January 29, 2023

Living to experience another birthday is a blessing in itself. I didn’t know much about my own strength and faith in God until this age. Year 29 showed me how ruthless life and the people in it can get while your back is up against a wall. I experienced many heavy days and unsettling nights. I'm just thankful to say that I made it through and here’s my raw and unfiltered truth on the 29 things I learned at 29 in no particular order. Let’s go!

1. Love can turn into resentment if the person grows to hate you.

2. Don’t trust anyone that showed you their true clothes and it was alarming to you.

3. You kids truly deserve a mother who’s mentally and emotionally capable of handling whatever and whoever gets things done.

4. Accountability will get you far.

5. Date with good intentions, not expectations.

6. Once they know your weakness they can make you surrender.

7. Never gamble your life on love.

8. Some decisions you make will haunt you for the rest of your life.

9. Get your rest in all ways and always.

10. Buy more groceries and less fast food. Your bank account will thank you.

11. Pillow talking isn’t as therapeutic as it may seem.

12. They love the thought of screwing over your life and screwing you; not genuinely you!

13. Write out all your monthly expenses and plan your spending accordingly.

14. Stack your money wisely.

15. Don’t forget what they said and how they behaved when they were upset towards you. They meant that.

16. Listen more effectively and comprehend the bigger picture.

17. You realized the lengths you would go to make sure your kids were straight even if you didn’t physically have it on you.

18. Your mental, vaginal, physical, and oral health all needs daily attention.

19. Don’t take advice from people that don’t understand how you move and your heart.

20. You are what you eat and drink. Make wise decisions.

21. Speak affirmations over yourself. Talk to God and handle the day with grace.

22. People will use your presence to make themselves look better to the world and others.

23. Get out of the house, girl. Do yourself a favor and get cute and find a way to leave go.

24. Value your body and your mind and don’t allow people to keep getting a fun day pass.

25. Taking care of your hair and appearance will help your energy radiate more.

26. I like myself more at this age happily divorced.

27. Just because you don’t have it doesn’t mean you aren’t capable of achieving it.

28. Your presence is strong and so is your integrity.

29. Journal daily no matter in what way.

There you have it. Of course, there’s so much more I learned. It’s a little difficult brewing it all down into just 29 things, but it was doable. Tomorrow, I’m taking on this new chapter and decade of my life as a 30-year-old woman! I’m excited and eager to just see what year 30 will bring. Until tomorrow’s blog post. See ya!
