Paying Yourself With A Reality Check

in , , by Linda B Hurd, October 01, 2018
It’s October, baby! I’m excited and determined to get a lot of my goals for the months accomplished. This time last year I was counting down the days until I gave birth to my first child. I was uncomfortable with incredibly swollen feet, but I still found the energy to get out and exercise!

At this moment, I’m enjoying motherhood and being a stay at home mom. Some days I find myself under a slight depression. Yesterday, I had to give myself a pep-talk in the mirror! I was all types of frustrated and emotional.

Living with Lymphedema for the past 10 years has been life-changing. If you have no clue as to what lymphedema is I will let you know that it is a chronic swelling that occurs when there is damage or blockage of the lymph nodes. The damage or blockage can make it difficult for the lymphatic fluid to drain. Unfortunately, there is no cure for lymphedema. There are many treatment options to help manage it. I wanted to share five things with you today that I have learned throughout the years of being a lymphie.

I Told My Mama To Stop Stressing

in , , by Linda B Hurd, September 21, 2018
My mama Lilly B Wiggins is one of the strongest women I know. She raised me and my younger sister and brother with little money and education, but she always did have much strength. I cannot recall a time that I have ever seen her break down in tears. Hold up, maybe once or twice, from laughing or from a touching sermon while at church, but I never have seen her cry in a time of a storm.

Every woman, no matter young or old, is not cut from the same cloth. We all have different hustles, motivations, and goals. Some of us are raising a family while trying to provide a better living situation and future. I know how tiresome it could be busting’ your ass to make a living. I understand your struggle!
