I thought that I would just open up and tell you that I am getting dentures in my 20's. At first, I thought that talking about my dental health would just be just as embarrassing as the thought of it. 

However, talking about it makes me feel way more comfortable than the thought of it. If you do not know me at all allow me to introduce myself. My name is Linda Hurd. I am 24 years old and I am a sugar addict. I love sweets and I have just started to learn more about the true importance of taking care of my dental health. This year I will be getting at least five-seven teeth surgically extracted from my mouth. The teeth that I will be getting extracted are mainly in towards the back, sides, upper half, and lower half of my mouth.  

For the entire month of February and from now on I will be educating my readers on black women that have empowered me and countless other women in America. I believe that as a writer and inspiring author, that I touch on the lives of many black women that have paved the road for women like me who have been blessed with the talent to write and tell amazing stories. Today, I wanted to talk about the life of Ms. Octavia Bulter.

If someone would have asked me when I was around the age of sixteen where would I be at 24? I honestly would have said, "Hopefully, living." You see when I was sixteen years old I was suicidal. Everything in my life did not seem right. I hated the young girl I was, and I damn sure did not believe that I would be here today. I am now 24 years old, however on a Saturday afternoon after 5:30 pm back in the year 1993 that's when I came into this world kicking! My life had a purpose. God had a purpose for me to be here.
