The Last Week of Being 30

in , , by Linda B Hurd, January 22, 2024

As I eagerly approach the milestone of turning 31 in just one week, I am reflecting on the incredible journey of the past year. It's not just about thinking about blowing out candles on a cake on my birthday. I am thankful for all the victories, lessons, and self-discovery that have come with embracing a new age. This is not just a birthday that’s on the way; it's a celebration of independence, resilience, and the power of embracing life on my terms.

It just is not other people’s business and that is fine. When it comes to maintaining an air of mystery around oneself it can be a powerful and empowering choice. For women, who have historically been subjected to societal expectations and judgments, preserving an element of enigma can be a liberating act of self-expression.

Last year, I learned firsthand that the dating world in your 30s, especially after a divorce and as a mother of two, can be both exciting and challenging. This past year has been a journey of self-discovery, independence, and a realization of the values that truly matter in a relationship.

The Monthly Bouquet Ritual

in , , by Linda B Hurd, January 12, 2024

A bouquet every other week or month increases the self-love. That’s if you ask me. With the demands of work, relationships, and responsibilities, it becomes essential to find small yet meaningful ways to express self-love and appreciation.
