STORY TIME: The "Splash" That Started It All

by Linda B Hurd, November 25, 2016
When I moved from my very small hometown of Napoloeonville to the West Bank of New Orleans, I became a tourist. I had the passion with-stored within me to travel whether or not I was on my two feet, public transportation, a cab, or right-along-side my hubby in his car. I didn't let now having a car hold me back from seeing and experiencing life. I was determined to see whatever the hell, I knew I was destined to see. I'm going to tell you this. I was an avid RTA bus catcher. I have slowed down a bit with taking the bus in the pass year, but I can honestly say that catching the bus in the city is truly humbling experience. I just wanted to share my experience of being splashed by cars while at the bus stop trying to make it back home.

Girl, look at that chocolate cake! It's about to go down! There I was staring at a homemade German Chocolate cake my mother-in-law made for Thanksgiving 2015. I have always been a desserts first kinda girl after praying and chit-chatting with the family. The only thing that was keeping me away from the chocolate cake that year was time. However, I didn't allow my eyes to fill my plate and to not have any stomach room for that cake! Last year, I learned that over eating during the holiday season isn't always a comfy feeling nor was it good for my health. Here are a few ways to NOT over eat this holiday season and still enjoy good cooking!

7 Quick Tips For BETTER Time Managment

in , , by Linda B Hurd, November 16, 2016

For most people learning how to better manage their time is difficult to do. We all have the same 24 hours in different time zones across the globe to get things done and accomplished. The question I would love to ask is, “Do you know how to manage your time in more ways than just three?” Hold, up and pause that thought. Here are 10 quick tips for better time management!

Finding a dude that’s worth your damn time does not have to be a headache. The problem is that once you seek out a great guy with the qualities to match most times, some things go unnoticed. Getting caught up in the moment or like Anita Baker sings about, “Being caught up in the Rapture of Love” can sometimes sneak up on you.

However, what happens when you meet a guy who only wants to conversant, chill, or text you whenever he gets ready? Basically, you are only an option for him when it is convenient for him. There is no longer the kissy face and heart eyed emoji’s being shared. He no longer seems to truly care what you up to. Here goes my advice on what to do and what needs to be done.

If this is your very first time ever reading my blog site, I want to personally welcome you. I started this blog site shefoundstrength.com to encourage, motivate, and to inspire other girls and women of all ages to find their inner strength. Discovering your inner strength isn’t just a task to easily accomplish. I have found that many times in my life, I have struggled to maintain my inner strength. In life, there will be times you will feel defeated. You will feel as if you have no one to turn to. There will be times you will feel like you are just being bullied by your own life. To be honest we all deserve to go through the bad, because it makes us appreciate the good. As of matter of fact going through the bad makes us become more appreciative of life, growth, and our emotions. Whether you are a man or woman you know that finding your inner strength isn’t just a physical meaning. Lifting weights and testing your physical strength can be anyone’s definition of strength. However, I have discovered that my inner strength doesn’t just come from the physical, but from the mental and spiritual too.
