I am very blessed to proclaim that I am officially a mother.
On Sunday, October 29th, 2017 at 2:53 pm I gave birth to a 7 pound
and 11-ounce baby boy that my husband and I named Eli Alan Hurd. I was 40 weeks
and two days pregnant. On his birthday cried so many tears of joy that day that
my eyes were super puffy. It took me an hour to push him out and just seconds
to realize that my life had changed for the better.
As you read this I am laid
back on my sofa with Moana the Disney movie playing on my television. My baby
boy is position on the left side of my stomach. I can hardly see my pointer
keys on my laptop because of my belly. I am two days away from my supposed due
date Friday, October 27th.
A
couple of months ago, I was inside my apartment washing up dishes while
listening to my Spotify R&B playlist. I just had finished jamming along
with BJ the Chicago Kid and then a song by SZA came on that’s call ‘The Weekend.’
As she sang the lyrics I automatically said out loud, “What in the hell?”
Someone’s puff done got snatch, because I only have 1 week and
a few days left until my due date. God only knows if I will be overdue and if I
will have to be induce as the days approach on by. I feel damn good. Your girl
is really embracing her pregnancy journey.
So much has happened throughout this entire pregnancy and basically within these past nine months that it is mind blowing. According to my The Bump app my baby boy is about the size of a winter melon and that’s around 19.6 inches and 6.61 pounds.
